Furry Fandom is a subgenre that centers on "Funny Animals", or cartoon-like anthropomorphic animals, such as for instance, Mickey Mouse. Furries are people who are attracted to anthropomorphic figures, feel a deep attachment to anthropomorphic figures, or have a desire to become anthropomorphic creatures. Involvement can range from simply enjoying anthropomorphic art to role-playing as an anthropomorphic creature to barking like a dog and scratching yourself – you determine your own level of geekiness. I personally simply enjoy anthropomorphic art and enjoy chatting with other furry fans. Strange as it may sound, the phenomenon is world-wide, and there are even several American and European conventions dedicated to the furry fandom, hundreds of thousands of furry art pictures available online, and literature extending from comic books to novella-like stories are written about furries.
If this is all new to you, you probably are asking: WHY? Well, good question, and I have no clue. I just know I have always enjoyed werewolf folklore and other anthropomorphic tales and drawing furries. If you just simply enjoy them too (no prerequisite to wear a dog collar or such), check out some of the links below, which might spark your interest.
